As you all know by now, I'm preparing to swap my Gasser Jetta MKII to an 1.6 TD.
I'm curious as to how I will be mounting my accesories as opposed to how they are on the Gasser engine.
My car has A/C, the Donor doesn't, is the A/C pump bracket the same on the TD and Gasser Motors?
What about my PS pump? The donor also doesn't have PS, can I use the setup off my gasser?
If someone has some good pics of a fully equipped IDI out of the car, can you please post them? I would like to see how everything sits as opposed to the gasser.

come on, someone must know this....

I have a full 1.6TD with AC but no P/S from an '86 pulled that I can snap pics of, don't know if the P/S significantly changes the bracketry though.
-
you should be able to swap the gasser PS stuff over...they are the same brackets(least they were on my 16v vs my 1.6)
as for AC...i'm not sure??? my diesel engine I bought had all the ac brackets...and they are for sure different then the gasser brackets...
but I am using my 16v ac compressor hooked to my diesel brackets....

don't know if this helps but on a MK1 the altenator support braket is different on a gasser than on a diesel (thicker on a diesel)

It appears that the setup for the A/C diesels is similiar to the A/C Gassers, but totally different from the N/A Diesel.

Here's a N/A Diesel

Here's a Digifant II gasser (like mine) w/o A/C (w/ A/C is the same)

Hope I'm not bothering anyone with all my questions lately, I'm just tying to get all the info I need BEFORE I start the swap.

unfortunately I think the only thing you can use is the compressor -
here's a diagram if it helps
