hello i was just wandering what are the difference between the TD (AAZ) and the TDI (AHU) engines
Cheers
-
the aaz engine has no intercooler and the ahu engine does - difference is more power and improved mpg apparently.
-
indirect injection vs direct injection among other details?
yep that too!
-
The block is basically the same and interchangeable, aside from the pistons.
-
now we are getting a bit technical....
-
Are there any TDI's with a mechanical fuel system from the factory (other than something like the electronics on the AAZ)?
-
Not in N. America but I think there were a few in Europe.
-
ALL TDIs have electronics. The 1.9 AAZ was the last TD (IDI) engine and it has no electronics at all.
