Hi lads,could anyone say if the 1.6D and the 1.9TD vacuum pumps are interchangeable?

No, hole in the block is bigger in 1,9.

or you could use a pump from a later 1.6l. It is a vane type just like the 1.9l units.

ye,my 91 jetta TD has the 1.9 type pump,i will get one of those  8)
