1.6 NA converted to TD.
NA injectors.
NA pump cranked way up.
VNT 15 doing 15 PSI
No intercooler.
We'll say timing is good.
Any ideas? 60 bhp/75 ft/lb?
Additionally, what would an alright intercooler, a turbo pump, and some turbo or mercedes injectors bump things up to?
Thanks.
Just getting excited about driving my car next summer, and throwing it on a dyno.

Well, the N/A pump has a bigger head than the Eco-TD's. (9 mm versus 8 mm IIRC)
And you're running considerably more boost (1 bar compared to 0.65 bar) than the Eco TD, so you should be comfortably past the Eco-TD's 60 hp.
I would guess 75 or so hp.
Probably not much more than that though without an intercooler.

The ECO TD was 57hp.
Andrew
Yeah, I had an error in there.. fixed now
Here are the correct numbers as far as the European spec models are concerned:
1.6 D (n/a) 40 kW (54 hp) and 100 Nm @2300-2900
1.6 Eco-TD 44 kW (60 hp) and 110 Nm @2400
1.6 TD 51 kW (70 hp) and 133 Nm @2500-2900
1.6 TD I/C 59 kW (80 hp) and 155 Nm @ 2700

i think these clutches can hold 120hp semi-reliably (not slipping the clutch all the time) so if your car can't slip the clutch, then you're doing near or below 120hp. my best guess would be about 90-100hp max though... the torque however will be much more due to the low boost of the VNT. i would say torque is more in the range of 120ft/lbs or even 140ft/lbs.
does it smoke much at low rpm's??? that turbo must spool up instantly... you might not even need a true TD pump. just a tweaked NA pump to deliver loads of fuel.
-
I don't think you need a turbo pump,...
it only keeps the smoke down before boost, you can do that with your foot.
Probably close to 80 horses.
There was a formula I learned in physics class for finding your horsepower.
Had to go from 20-30, 30-40, 40-50 etc.
Then 50-40, 40-30, 30-20.
subract the difference, weigh your car, etc.
When I was checking the HP in my 79 Civic a cop pulled me over and asked what I was doing tearing up and down the road.
I showed him my results and proclaimed a trusty 37HP? (or something close to that) at the wheels. :D
No ticket.
I think he felt sorry for me; 37HP at the wheels sheesh, your suffering enough already.
Or pictured himself trying to convince a judge to convict me of excessive acceleration. 37HP???? really???? :D
I'll see if I can find the formula.
