May we all have a better 2009, and may all our diesels be worry free :) .

That's PURE genius Andrew!
Who doesn't like home brew? :D
I have beer making drums and brown bottles with caps (but the rubber seals have perished :( )  I've wavered more to the "U-Bru" method.

I had a good friend that had quit the set up in his storage shed. That guy made some of the best Rasbery Ale I've ever tasted. He moved to Alaska and I moved to Utah so all I have are memories now. :(

Hopefully high quality :P
I've been given some vile self brewed wines. I used them to clean gear oil off stuff.

Edit: and start fires.

Me too.  My buddy and I drank a bunch of his uncles home brewed rhubarb wine.  It was damn tasty but it left a film on the glass it came out of.  After a couple of glasses you could barely stand.

I've done a significant amount of brewing and very little of it has been "drain-worthy".  Some has been extraordinarily delicious.  I tend to do 1 gallon test batches before making a larger commitment and so would be very surprised by a less-than-yummy larger batch.

Andrew

You guys would be wonderful with cooking oil, lye and methanol....... :)

Again, Happy New Year to all.

I've been homebrewing beer for several years now, though it's been a while since my last brew.  It's a lot of fun and very rewarding.  I have yet to make a batch that was undrinkable.  It's really hard to screw up if you take the time to double and triple clean and sanitize everything.  The closest homebrew supply store is in Columbus (1-hr) away, and while I could mail-order, that gets expensive with shipping the way it is.

If anyone is interested, I'd be glad to help you get started.  Rule number 1, DONT buy those "Mr. Beer" kits, they suck.  Go to any homebrew supply store and they will have "Starter kits" already assembled for you.  And spend the extra money on a secondary fermenter, the quality is worth it.
