Seems to be an ALH TDI block and head, but the turbo looks like its from an AHU. The pump looks like it from an AAZ, PN 028 130 108 A, but it doesn't have the adjustable pump sprocket :? . This all was in a MK1 Rabbit. How would it run if the pump sprocket is not the right one, or am I missing something here about the conversion?

That's a funky orientation for the IP.
And what's the other cogged sprocket there, lower and to the left (blockward) from the IP? Looks like it's in the pathway of the timing belt... oil pump? Intermediate shaft? Weird.
I dunno what to tell you, honestly.

AAZ based pump? Looks like 17mm pump shaft...

 That's the water pump I believe.

Yep. its a T-belt driven water pump. Below that is an idler and then the crank sproket.
The pump is what realy :? me. I know its not an m-tdi pump.
-
I know its not an m-tdi pump.
What brings you to that conclusion? Many mTDI pumps are built from AAZ pumps.
Looks like an AHL to me with a mechanical pump and turbo to make installation into a rabbit easy. I would wonder about the pump internals.
Andrew
its definitely a mk4 tdi with a mechanical pump, the later motors went to a chain driven oil pump, and the waterpump housing built into the block. but the mk1 motor mounts don't bolt up to these blocks i wonder what they used to motor mounts. and also the pump is slanted weird on the newer motors
-
Pass. side motor mount is a gas Rabbit mount modified.
The pump internals are unknown.
I thought that an mtdi pump on a MK4 would need a two piece pump pully so that you could adjust timing?
-
Looks like and ALH mTDI to me. Not being from Europe, I can't speculate ebyond that, since there were some funky configuations all over Europe. But if you're in the US, then yes, ALH with and AAZ mechaincal (mTDI?) pump.
-
Looks promising. I wouldn't mind stumbling across a set-up like that.
-
can i get a picture of the passenger motor mount?
-
THe engine looks like a ALH or AGR (my AGR looks like that, itīs a 90hp TDI with a wg-turbo, not VNT)
It looks like the IP needs to be rotated/tilted upwards towards the head, maybe thatīs whats wrong with it if it doesnīt run, the hardlines are in the wrong position :?
-
What's that on the oil cooler/filter flange ? Looks like a large oil separator. Its also interesting to me how the IP is tilted.
-
The way the pumpis sittng looks just like a 99.5- later TDI MKIV but it just has a mechanical pump. I like it. How much do you want for it? ha i wish.
And the oil flange has the internal oil filter.

SWEET !! No dumping oil on the ground and less metal in the land fill. Its also nice to see the filter paper to look for metal flakes.
-
I may or may not have tossed the old one in the fire once done looking at it. Got heat from the old filter and oil. ha.

Got some pics of the Pass. side motor mount all fab'ed up.

The pump that is on there has the same sized pump shaft as a 1.6 pump. But the offset is different. Meaning that the pully on the 1.6 rides out further that the one on there. There must be a reason for the offset between the 1.6 and the 1.9 :?: .
