Looks like the orientation of the exhaust housing and compressor housing compaired to how it mounts on a VW is different?
What did it come off of?

It's Christmas and money is tight, but I want it soooooo bad. If you still have it in January, I'll take it. Any idea what you're looking for?

^ This is one of the things I love about small forums like this, all the unsolicited vouching for each other we do. :D

Not particularly interested in the turbo, way too big for me and my little 1.5 fleet. But looks like a good piece!

Called the VW dealer.  They cannot get a new one, they dont even list it in their system the only one they list is a rebuilt one and they cannot get any, apparently they dont show any in the country.  I checked the part number on the turbo to the one the VW dealer gave me and it is the same with the exception of the last 2 digits the dealer part number ended in 2 X and mine ends in 3 B... the X stands for factory rebuilt so this confirms that the unit i have is not rebuilt but factory new.   It looks like this is one of the few ones left in the country......what is the demand for this type of specialty turbo?

well then i guess ill hang onto it.... it looks like the dealer would want 1030 for a REBUILT, if they could get it, but they can't even get one.... and i cannot find another anywhere so it seems like it is a very rare turbo, and 500 was a starting price which i think is extremely reasonable for a turbo you cant seem to get anywhere else and that is NLA from the dealer..... but if there is no interest i will just hang onto it...

I would be interested in it, if you had also had the other hardware required to do the installation. Like a new intake/exhaust manifold and the oil line and piping. Where would you get these items.....?

you can find the used stuff for sale by possibly caveman or others.. he just scrapped a 1.6, but i think it was non turbo.

I think the problem is not the quality or rarity of the turbo, both are high on the scale. However, when people look to spend that kind of money they want a disco potato, holset, t3/t4, schwizter (sp) etc (something as an upgrade).

Just my 2 cents.

I agree, but good luck with the sale anyways.

I think your E Bay auction answered this one..

Nice turbo for sure, I'm sure someone will take it off your hands once you get the price adjusted.
