ok imagine, ive been working on this engine since august, probly the most high tech 1Z ever made, got it in a corrado VR6 evrything is looking realy good, starts and runs perfect. just about to put the intercooler pipes on, thort id wipe the dirty finger marks off the engine whilst it warmed up.
then out of no where the blue roll was snatched out of my hand by the inlet manifold  and started spluttering a bit, so i literaly jumped straight at the key and turned it off, i stood in silence for 5 minits, i couldnt believe anyone cud be that stupid, especialy me
2 days of trying later and it came beack to life but only on 3 cylinders :( so realised that it must be valve trouble, took the head off again, no valves leaked but one had visabley been slightly glanced by a piston. on futher inspection the valve was a bit stiff in the guide, i changed it, new head gasket and torqued it back together.
The engine works fine now, but let this be a leason to all. also if you do loose blue roll down ur inlet you shouldnt turn the engine off, you should hit the gas to blow it out as quick as possible and prevent it from gathering in a lump that wont compress
suppose i can laugh about it now

I did something even stupider once. I was changing the valve cover gasket on a 2.0 l gasser and on those the top half of the intake manifold has to be removed. Well just to make sure that nothing would fall into the now open inlets, i stuffed them with paper towels [ the white thin ones] . Well guess who didn't remove the paper before re-installing the manifold. Try starting it, barely ran on 2 cylinders, before my brain came back on line. removed the intake again with my service manager standing beside me laughing his butt off. No damage except to my pride and dignity[ what was left of it ].

I did the same caveman, except it was on my car and i didn't try starting it i sat in the seat instead and my friend said, "well?" and said to my self "i'm forgetting something.... aw crap."

lol
i suppose that makes me feel a bit betta
havent tried the VNT control under boost yet, but works great without the pipes on. only just got the engine running again, now i got to solve the air bubbles in the the fuel problem.

I am now old enough to realize that if you think you're missing or forgetting something-don't ignore it. My problem is determining how important is the thing i'm forgetting.
