Howdy Gang,
I'd like to get the adapter and flywheel to convert our 1986 Syncro to diesel- I don't have the replacement VW diesel motor yet but I'm looking.
any parts out there?
thanks

Hello Tow'd,

libbybapa is right regarding the diesel vanagon BH will mount onto the syncro trans, no adapter required.

I have a complete TD engine removed from a factory equipped TD syncro.  I also have the diesel bell housing.  I'm in Canada too but a good haul away.  PM me if your interested.

Ive got a Kennedy Engineering adapter plate available if you want to use your existing bellhousing. Also have the KEP flywheel and PP.

New from KEP is about 700$, make me an offer if interested.

If you use the Diesel vanagon bellhousing you need to either mold the fuel tank to clear the starter which will be at 12 oclock or get a diesel syncro tank for 450$.
