Title: Timing a non-turbo 2.4 (VW engine ina Volvo)
Post by: jackbombay on July 07, 2005, 10:30:59 pm
I was wanting to know what the correct lift at TDC for this engine (84') .

I have a manual for the Audi 5 cylinder Diesels and for the non-turbo it says .80-.90 mm, I assume this is very close if not correct for the Volvo 2.4. My gauge is not metric and I will be shooting for the advanced end of the spectrum, .035".  I assume that finding TDC on this motor is similar to the Audi 5 banger that I have, a notch missing from the bell housing on the drivers side that lines up with the mark on the flywheel, can anyone confirm this?
