Evidently I'm helping a friend on the weekend with an intermittent K03 turbo issue.
He has an early AAZ Canadian Passat... Eco pump, tons of EGR plumbing, and a tiny K03 turbo that my initial reading says is basically defeated until triggered by the WOT switch.
I've had a quick look and the wastegate does in fact have a port that leads to a solenoid valve... the rest of the plumbing upstream of the solenoid is iffy at best, since several people have monkeyed with it.
The question: if we want the turbo to be on all the time... do we vent the port to atmosphere, or plumb it to vacuum ??
TIA,
Vince

Vent the vaccum port to atmosphere this will leave the wastegate closed until boost can control it.
