nice body lines

Hey check out the fuel priming bulb between the filter and pump - that is a good idea!!
-
pure genius!
-
Not sure if there is any 'sarcasm' in the comments about the priming bulb/handpump, maybe I'm just being paranoid....
They are a useful addition IMO, tho expensive at the motorfactors for what they are these days... they had all been pilfered from the citroen/Peugeot diesels at the scrappies!!!
Door and wing are off for rust repair and glass swop....
-
Nope no sarcasm I'm guessing.
That's a good idea for sure.
Welcome to the board BTW. Nice to have a some fellow Irish Blood here :)
My ancestors are from Dublin. I hope to get over there some day.

Cheers Mate... shur if you get around to the 'homecountry', get on one of the Irish vw boards, and look a few dubowners up...
Diesel moddin/tuning gets a bit 'frowned upon' over here tho...
-
pure genius!
I am not being sarcastic at all. It's a really good idea. I hate priming.

Me too, it is a good idea!
-
welcome mate, nice rattle ;-)
on the priming "bulb" my neighbour showed me his isuzu diesel a while back - he put a primer pump for an outboard motor fuel tank on his - exactly the same - and cheap!
-
That's one smooth running engine you got there Kevin, especially if it hasn't run in 2 years.

I bought the engine through an Irish forum...
Ive had it about 10 months; its was covered in 'horse/cow byproduct' so gave the engine a good clean and power wash... didnt get too 'anal'...
...on its short initial start up, I noticed some oil in the water...
...Im hoping its the oil/warmer, intercooler thing above the oil filter rather than the head gasket... engine had 160,000 miles on it when I bought it...
...not that many AAZ engine'd cars like this in Ireland; most came over on the boat (from UK)...
I have to say I'm impressed by this site and the level of knowledge shared... amazing what can be done to a diesel 'chugga' for relatively small money in comparsion to a pertrol....

welcome M8 i have famlay in the boghopper land , those pug hand priming pumps are A1 got them on all my diesels , when the fuel fillter starts to get choked the bulb gets sucked in  and its time to change the fuel filter
-
Hit there Kevin...
I've also done that primer bulb mod to my AAZ in a T25 - and yes, from a Peugeot in a scrapyard. Those little stainless fuel-line clips Peugeot use are incredibly good things.
All the VW diesels in Midlands and Northern scrapyards disappear within hours of arriving - a big Eastern European operation buying them up en bloc, mainly Polish I imagine.
Great forum here by there way, the best on VW diesels in the world I should think!
Please excuse me if I just post an image for test purposes below, will remove it soon, thanks
