Hello, I am from Portugal and I have run in the 4x4 portugueses championship, my car is a Nissan, The engine came from a nissan cabstar truck, We already tunned the pump to the maximum, the turbo is a garrett GT2260V from a BMW 530D, No intercooler, We need alot of horse power but we need them always ready, turbo lag is a killer for us, What do you tnhink about changing the engine head to 14mm? The pump ist a zexel almost looks like a bosch, the head is 12mm I think

that looks fun , i think your pump could be further moded to give more power , what the max rpm you using

RPM meter is not working very good, but is doing around 4000rpmīs

how are you controling your gt22 cos it will be a vnt , is this engine a idi tdi , this set up would benafit from a charge cooler, have you got a pick of the engine
-
Yes, its direct injection, the VNT is controled by boost using a wastegate valeve from a regular turbo, itīs working fine,
-
dose your injection pump have a LDA so then the turbo comes in it alows the pump to give more fuel to the injectors ?. if so you can take of the nilon washer from under the rubber bit , you could also put biger injectors in
-
We already tuned the alda and did it alot, the things that everyone knows we already did-it, injectors are stock, they are almost the same as the ones from VW, the pump head is 12mm I think (not sure) How about swaping to a 14mm from DSS?
-
a 12mm head on a well set up pump is good for 240-270 HP , if you go up to a 14mm head and it gets reved hard there is more chance for pump failure, from the info you have giving sounds like you want to go for bigger nozzles on your injectors what are the std ones .

I have to agree with what has been said so far with regards to the 14mm pump head. The 12mm can supply all the fuel you will need. It seems like you have to address the air side of things. No good pumping the fuel in if it can't burn with anything :) First thing I would do would be install a charge cooler. This will make a big difference as numerous people on this board will confirm. (well, personally I'd measure the charge temps before first, nothing like quantifiable data to prove your thinking!) If hardpiping is used, or a high quality silicone hose, there will be no extra lag, just more horsepower :)
After this, i would dive into the engine. Bare minimum would be a top end build and inspection to ensure the gasket seal is 100%. Then, head stripped out and the head ported. Diesel castings of that era are notoriously poor!! This step alone will REDUCE lag and INCREASE power and torque :) On petrol engines, people didn't used to believe me, that I could make more power on less boost than they were using. Boost pressure is a figure that shows how hard it is to push that air in. If i can get that air in easier, the air FLOW will rise, but the boost drop. Of course, if the turbo is capable, easy enough to wind the boost up and get even more power lol! Of course, with more air, you can put more fuel, more power, just watch those EGT's like a hawk!
After that, a bottom end build would be your option. Knowing Jap stuff tho, it wouldn't be to bad as they don't really tend to wear to much! Just a matter of a spot of balancing (which I covered in a post in the TDi section) and basically "blue printing" to ensure everything is 100% and working as well as it possibly can.
After that, i would say with my tongue in cheek get a better driver? :D
Of course I've missed out a lot of points and parts that would need doing, but it seems you needed a bit of a roadmap to develop the engine.
Sorry for the ramblings, but you've basically come to the end of the bolt on stage. Gotta dig deep, but then if motorsport was cheap, I wouldn't be living in poverty!

i would suggest water intercooling, or adding an auxiliary fan to cool the intercooler if you go air/air. that way you'll get the cooling without the wind :)
-
weird site :?
once you've got as much diesel and boost getting in there as possible, add propane and NO2 for more fuel and O2 then in addition to keep EGT's and block temps down encorperate water/methanol injection into the intake.
It would be a monster of an engine. Some bloke with a 1.9tdi made 1,000 bwhp by doing that.
You would need impressive fasteners holding it all together.
Big turbo with a blower to spool it.

maybe we can help you
You need to drop Burn_your_money a PM and get set up as a vendor so we can actually buy from you. http://vwdiesel.net/phpBB/profile.php?mode=viewprofile&u=1442
You can then make a thread in the Vendors section with your contact info and post up pricing.

I am pretty sure that if you send me your pump or another one that
will fit your engine i can do more than what you have now.
call me if you want to discuss it.
