Yes, you can. One wire goes to the fuel cut solenoid and the other wires are for the glow plug harness. Plus you still have the wires associated with the alternator. The throttle is connected using a throttle cable instead of a TPS.

apparently there are some pumps in the UK from various other cars that are near bolt-on that are factory mechanical TDI pumps...

disco 200 and 300 tdi  and the ivco 2.8  but none will just bolt on to a 1z the ivco stub is too short , and the disco stub is to fat , but is ment to fit with a 1.6 d pump bracket

Im not after huge bhp just something nice to drive with a bit of power when needed,my caddys currently fitted with a 1y seat 1.9 diesel at the minute and its awfull  So 100bhp to 120bhp would be great, you got any recomendations?

a moded 1.6 1.9 td pump with the tdi parts and a few tweeks would do you nicey and a set of t5  .216 nozzles with the std gt15 turbo 130hp max

i had a 1.9 seat d in my mk2 for a short time and after a few tweeks it would pull beter than a std mk3 golf tdi 90hp  mind it is 350kg lighter

i fancy a caddy but with a M tdi in her

yes first get a disco 300 TDI pump then get a 1Y pump bracket, they fit like a glove, then you will either need to drill out the mounting holes in the pump to make the timing adjustable or make an ajustable pully

BTW i cant yet personaly voutch that the pump will work, ill tell you next week for sure wen ive got my 1Z going

im quite familiar with the 1Z now so if you got any Qs drop me a PM ill be glad to help

diesel caddys are the future

Man i feel a bit sorry for poor skool rich , lookes like you need a new starter or your cr real low and blowing some oil with that big chain on the front of the caddy      do you allways need a tow start or dose it start when hot , you will need to get a pic of your rado to see if it is as crazy looking as the pickup    i misted a nice caddy last week was going to be a Mtdi and strip the hood bonnet so it would be all rusty

its a bit of the pump thread  but hey

thanx, im fed up of people beeping and waving at me TBH, wish i had a normal car. i changed to rat look, then everyone in the scene did the same, so i carryed on the madmax theme and went for fantacey rat-rod trying to look like the cop cars out of mad max 1, but now im bord of both so its time for my annual style change, going back to standard but with all my skillz under the bonnet 8)  a full on sleeper.

the chains are just for show, the car is actualy very reliable despite the way it looks and sounds, the only trouble ive had is snapping engine mounts

wow lembot that caddy has got sum mean stance, im loving it. and looks great in that colour, i hope mine looks as good as that wen ive restored it.

yes mine sparks quite a bit, the six seep box is massive and it hits the road all the time, im planning on raising the engine to stop this from happening, chains flap around, slightly annoying but the exhaust is so loud that you cant hear anything

snakemaster i think ur the only person that found my rabbit on strings funny   ye we dont call it the rabbit over here, just golf
