Title: 96 tdi glow plug light flashes whilst running

hi guys, i have a problem with my recently bought golf, its a 96 tdi and the glow plus light flashes whilst running, it then goes out after a while. I have also noticed that when the ignition is turned on the glowplug light does not stay on very long at all, don't know if these are linked or not.

flashing glow plug light is just like a MIL engine check light. It means you have a DTC . Go to a shop where they'll plug in a scanner to see what the fault is.
 TDI's don't need very much to start. Hardly any glow plug time is needed because of better combustion.

I t may also mean almost nothing . For example i have a 99 TDI in the shop and his glow plug light was flashing. Problem was his 2 outer brake light bulbs were burnt. Get the system scanned.
