Title: what gear box?

My mk1 caddys had a seat 1y 1.9 diesel fitted by the previous owner,Thing is its still got the four speed gearbox in there,will a mk2/a2 golf 5speed box fit?

yes it will but you will need the mounts and shift linkage for a 5 speed!

Just asked that same question lol. Check the post about mk2 tranny to mk1 a few threads down. should be the same for your app.
