Title: DELETE ME
Post by: zagarus on October 14, 2008, 04:50:04 pm
$400 takes it.

Basically the throttle lever broke off the top of the pump when i had my accident.  I called Giles up and as long as you have a parts pump that he can use to replace the top part with the repair should only cost between 150-200$.

Pretty good deal for a 950$ pump if you ask me.

the pump was set for 25psi,  intercooled, 2.5inch straight pipe engine.   The specific redline it was tuned to im not sure but it went all the way to 5,000rpm with power ( i didnt want to go any higher just yet), turbo was a garrett T3.

and the pump was rebuilt this january, pump went in the car end of march, and car died may 3rd.

And i can get a picture up asap.

im not sure if there is any damage to the sprocket but i dont think there is.  i was originally going to use the fuel pump from the other engine (that im selling) to fix my Giles pump then i was going to sell the fixed Giles pump.  But i lost interest in that idea.

i would just use some type of epoxy to 'glue' the piece back on...   then sell my 1.6 pump   but if the sprocket is damaged, i would imagine that there could be a problem with the shaft as well, unless the sprocket could be a 'crumple' zone and take most of the beating.

still being on the car though its hard to assess the damage to the fullest extent.

looking more at that thing... it'll need to be torn down and cleaned on the inside   but still not a bad deal for $400...

it could probably even be welded up...
