Title: last chance AAZ block and head
Post by: the caveman on October 13, 2008, 08:34:12 am
If nobody wants it ,the short block is going for scrap metal at the end of the week. If anybody wants to rebuild one,i got an AAZ block and head cheap. Crank nose  of course is shot ,but i can supply a brand new TDI pulley to be machined to it. Will need rebore, new pistons  rods and valves. Compression was good a few weeks before so head surface, guides are probably fine.
Block -$100 + 25 for TDI pulley
Head- $75
both for $150
may be only for someone to pick up.

everything in CND funds and of course doesn't include shipping, handling

thanks

I know distance is a real problem that makes it not worth it. I  hate to just chuck it, but i really don't any more room.

I don't know what the term is but my part time helper has a cousin who works where they fill empty trucks on their way back where ever. for the long block he said it would be as low as 250 but up to 450. problem is this doesn't include brokerage which could be 100. a short bock would be maybe 100 off the estimate ?? as long as your not in a hurry. i'm going to call some brokerage houses now to try to get an idea.

hey saurkraut- shipping maybe 150-200 +110 brokerage for the short block. for the good 1.7 i have, figure 400 +140 brokerage. If i had the time and because i run on WVO and doesn't cost me anything for fuel i'd almost deliver,if i had any time.....     It'd be better for some one in Canada, because of the brokerage, but then again nothing special about a 1.9 here

Sorry, for the head only.  If neccessary, you can stip it, cam, valves, etc..

I've shipped complete heads less the camshaft using canada post. No problems. Ranged from $50-$75 to the states

as far as i know it's only the valves that are shot. it may be better for anybody for me to take it apart so as not to ship any bad parts.

I still have both. My scrap guy is not in a hurry due to the fact that everything is down including scrap metal. I haven't taken the head apart yet though in case you want to save some shipping $$$

How old/used is the head?
If its got less than 200,000 on it i'd happily take the valve train parts :D keepers, springs, valve guides, lifters and so on
if someone just wants the head w/o those parts
