What did you make it out of? Does it matter? Or does it have to be braided stainless? Any pics?

Heat can be an issue. Make sure it'a heat-resistant material.

I used fuel hose from napa, good to 300f or so. where is the other end of your return going, block or pan?

Brass on steel can be tricky. make sure you use a good teflon tape or paste. otherwise, the expand and contract will cause leaks

I bought some steel -AN fittings..I cut them off and welded them to a old drain pipe...then I cut the metric threads off the oil pan and welded -AN fittings on there too...I used braided stainless hose...wrapped in a protector.

I used "abrasion king" low psi hydraulic hose (I think its Gates), it works with hose barbs and was an easy way to go. For the supply I bent up 5/16 steel line. I ended up running the drain to the block,
I did not want any fittings down low and did not want to deal with welding in a fitting.
