Title: 1995 Jetta 1.9L TD
Post by: gunrtd on October 12, 2008, 10:23:54 pm
I just bought a 95 TD Jetta with the 1.9L engine. I bought it for it's economy as I could no longer afford to drive my truck. I was searching for a chip to pick up the performance a little and found this site. I have done a lot of the 1.9 mods on these pages and I am very impressed with this car. Amazing performance for the economy!
My question is on the govenor mod listed for the 1.6L TD engines - does this mod apply to the 1.9L also? There is also a lot of discussion around which spring to shim (or replace with solid stock?). Also where could one source a 1.6L TD Boost pin?
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Send the pump off to Giles in Ontario and he can do the full Monty to it.

junkyard is your best bet.  you pretty much ruin that pump for anyone else though

or you could just add the ramp to your 1.9 pin.  the steeper the slope, the more fuel under boost
