Title: Bypass filter question
Post by: silvertdi on October 12, 2008, 09:24:59 pm
Has anyone tried the Trasko unit?  Sounds neat.  Just curious if it lives up to its claims.

Do you know what micron size the Amsoil bypass filters are?

and click on the demo.  warning for dialup users!

that filter is probably the best.  the amsoil filter says it goes down to a micron, but unless it gets the oil from black to like-new again, i doubt its as good.

Thats a cool system for sure.

They are on the verge of WAY to big for our engine compartment though.
I just built a single filter system for a bypass. I still need to get a better filter but the oil lines, filter mount is all done at least.

I'm going to use a 1 micron filter if I can find one.

I installed one of the Frantz units on my car.  So far it's working fantastic.  My oil used to get as black as tar and very thick, even though I run Mobil synthetic.  After two weeks of use the oil is clear with a hint of grey.  We'll see how it works out in the long run.  :D
