Title: AAZ and GTD Injector Nozzles
Post by: SR Heer on October 12, 2008, 12:33:17 pm
Duane,

I will be wanting to get a set of nozzles for my 1.6GTD engine - what do you recommend and how much?

Also will be wanting to get a set of nozzles for AAZ 1.9 TD dual rate injectors - what do you recommend for these and how much?

What do you charge to pop test and adjust these to say 165 BAR and are the dual rate injectors any more difficult to set up than the single rate ones?

Thanks

261for GTD motor will work great!  price determines on how many buy during the group buy so right now 19bucks per nozzel i charge 75bucks to rebulld 4 injectors!
it's alot of work! if your pump is stock then 155bar is fine for pop pressure
i cannot do dual spring injectors as of yet! you would have to send those off to giles or a injection shop! special equipment to do those settings on dual spring injectors!
Duane
261 work fine in AAZ injectors

Hi Duane,
If I understand right, would the 261's work for my 85 1.6 td?  If so, I would take 4.  I might be persuaded to take 8 if it would make a price difference.
Oh, let me know if you are including me in the count, and when you will need the money etc.

This is a good deal and I've already bought 4 but I couldn't wait for the GB to happen, I need injectors now.

Better pony up if you think there is even a slight chance you are going to rebuild your injectors within the next 2 years. You can always sell the tips down the road if you don't use them.

I'd like larger ones but just having new ones will be good. Let me know what you can get when you find out.

I'm just waiting on the table. I'm interested. I have mercedez nozzles from this site
http://www.veg-injection-service.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=6_8&products_id=29
I have had good results with these so i figured i'd post the link in a related post.
Are the nozzles you're getting similar Duane?

Sweet deal if this goes through. I wonder if you could do the same with glow plugs or entire injectors?

i've seen that site and what scares me is that i cannot see part # nor a bosch logo on the injectors pictured in that link! typical sign of Chinese knock offs!
i have Dan's (zukgod1) injectors here for a repop job and you guys would need to ask him where he got them and how long he used them?
because the nozzels are junk! leak bad! will not hold and have the worse spray pattern i've ever seen! i've threw away old bosch nozzels that had hundreds of thousands of miles that were better then these!
these nozzels i get come from monarch witch is from germany !
the guy i deal with goes to germany alot! his wife has family there!
also this is the same guy i did the injector shim group buy with!
anybody is welcome to his contact info ! he's a very nice guy and has not bull***ted me at all! and he will stand by his product and i can vouch for that!
I have high standards and anything i deal with has to meet my expectations because i'm rough on my equipment and it's gotta last!
and i been into VW's since 1986 when i bought my first VW ("66 sqareback type 3) witch i still have to this day! who elso do you know that has kept their first car over 30years? now thats devotion!

I'm interested in a nozzle group buy. However, I have no idea what the nozzle numbers mean either.

It's for my 1.6TD. I'm not looking for a performance gain really. Maybe a bit?

I've been trying to research this further to no avail.  All I seem to be able to find is the "DNO SD" series part numbers.  Kerma has a 193 nozzle listed for N/A applications 80-92, and a 308 nozzle listed as GTD replacements.  :?

In my experience the 293 or the 265 work better then the stock nozzle, if it were my car I would lean towards the 293.

I am highly interested in the group buy and would get 9x 293's and 4x 265's

I got mine installed, they idle much smoother.

They sure don't deliver the same amount of fuel as my Big Ass injectors, I had to turn the fuel screw almost 1 full turn in to get the idle back where it was   .

They seem to work great in all instances.

My EGT's are higher but that's due to the higher pop offs I had Duane set them to. Old ones were 139 and new ones are 165 so I need to advance my timing a tad again.

Over all I really like them so far, mileage is about the same. Filled up this morning and got 43.6 mpg average.

Buy em up guys..!!

i bury my 20 psi gauge quite often... metal HG though on a 1.6  8)  no head studs either!  the head bolts can actually hold quite a bit... its just the gasket material...

ok guys this is the unoffical nozzel break down! i have not heard from my supplyer yet bet this is what i know! and for those that ask about what size for veg oil stock size is fine!
193 for 1.5 and early 1.6

261 for merc. used in vw's as upgrade works great

265 for merc. used in vw's as upgrade works great also had something to do with emissions on merc. but i don't have the info!

273 commonly used on 1.6 TD and other's

293 these are i'm pretty sure are the GTD's nozzel's

308 these i've seen offered for 1.9's

314 these i don't know? but prolly work good on a 1.9!
if anybody has something to share or see something i missed in nozzel size chime in please!
thanks Duane

For those of you that know my build, I talked with the vendor and we decided on the 261's for me. Sounded like the best option for economy and power. I have about 500 miles on them so far and they are great, ran with a VR the other morning. He won but not by much, I was pushing 30psi and running 1350 egts @ 102 mph when I backed out, speeding tickets are bad enough add wreckless driving or exhibition of speed and the price goes up. Fun.

I'm in for 4 - I have a 1.6 ecoboost, looking for best economy / power. Should I be getting the 261 or the 273 ?

I'll have you rebuild my injectors - that includes the calibration ? I have 8 used injectors with less than 200K miles on them. Would the extra set have any value to you ?

Yes, it is heavier, but has a Coefficient of drag: 0.39 and the MK2 has 0.36, so the load at speed isn't that much more...
