i wouldn't cut it until i've tried it.  but it does sound suspicious... however, theres a new biodiesel processing system using this electrified card dropped into a tank of VO and it just separates the biodiesel from the glycerides. so if they can do that, i'm sure they can thin the diesel out by breaking a few bonds...

Problem with that being that you don't have biodiesel until you attach a new alcohol to the fatty acids. Breaking off the glycerin just gives you glycerin and fatty acid chains, no biodiesel.
