Title: How does the puel pump work?
Post by: bobryan on September 22, 2008, 10:11:03 pm
Hi i have a 1991 jetta diesel IDI. I was wondering how the fuel pump works is it in the tank like a normal gas car or where is the diesel injection pump? Im curious because im thinking about converting to waste veggie oil for fuel and i would need to set up 2 tanks. thanks!

The injection pump has a built-in fuel lift pump. It's a positive displacement vane-type pump, allowing it to draw a vacuum to pull fuel from the tank.
