Title: question on jetta switches ???
Post by: jake zak on June 14, 2005, 04:46:04 pm
Hi
I have a 91 eco and I just got it overhauled..
now I am checking this out and there is something I never seen in a jetta...
on the dash where all those blank plugs are(4) there is a swithch (rocker type with a warning green light) and the other one has a momentary switch with a red light under it and the third has a light..
now there is a box (approx 4"x1"x3" with a bundled multiple wire) in the grille on the drivers side that I have no idea what it is....?????
any one have these in there eco/jetta?
I put a test bulb set up on it to see if had any thing to do with the glow plugs ...nothing with that...
Could it be some kind of security item?
I might have to tear the dash apart to see where these wires go...
When I pull the plugs and seen the wiring it looks really professional?
did VW offer anything back then?
thanks..

Nothing like that in my 91 ECO.  Sounds like something installed by a professional audio shop maybe?? Don't know.
