Title: Wiring question for all you E-TDI experts
Post by: Turbofan on September 18, 2008, 07:48:51 am
So I'm in the process of doing a pinout for a '98 TDI Beetle ECU, and while I was pondering my Bentley wiring diagrams, I couldn't help but notice they refer to the ECU connector as a "T121" connector, when in fact the ECU only has 80 pins. Can anyone clarify this for me? I appreciate your time...

There are 2 connectors- one has 80 and the other has the balance.

My ECU has 2 connectors, a 53 pin connector, and a 27 pin connector. I'm  thinking the discrepancy is that this is a non-immobilizer ecu, hence the 42 less pins. What go you think?

For anyone else who runs into this, the immobilizer is the difference. I found an alternate diagram from Mitchel's, that covers the 80 pin '98 New Beetle ECU.
