Just was wondering. I have a 91 ECO and my speed-o-meter goes up to 140mph but another 91 ECO I know of only has a 120mph speedo. Does anyone have any idea the reason for this? Yes it is mph. Just seemed odd to have that high of a speedo on a vehicle that couldn't go anywhere near that speed. Plus that other 91 only had a 120 speedo and it also had shift dots on it as well where mine does not. Mine is all original from what I can tell, no evidence of it being replaced. Mine is also originally from Vermont. It has the lovely undercoating all over the place. Who ever did it sure didn't care where they sprayed it that is for sure.

mine had an 120 mph spedo. no idea for the change, maybe it is because it was a newer car. IDK

My car takes a long time to get up to 140 km/hr. Having a 140 MPH (240 km/hr) speedo is kinda pointless even if it came from a gas VW. I wonder what else that 140 MPH gauge fits, a Vanagon?
Cheers, Steve

Maybe the speedo was changed for the 140mph one, I'm planting a 160mph/260km/h speedo in my GTD tacho
