Title: Numbers stamped on rod caps
Post by: burn_your_money on September 17, 2008, 05:00:38 am
We are rebuilding an AAZ motor and have 2 rod/piston assemblies from one engine, and 2 from another. On the rod caps, 2 are stamed "42 K3" and the other 2 are stamped 32 K5"

We used to bad bottom ends to make 1 good one, there was 4 of each number.

Are we ok to run 2 of each in the same engine?

i'd say just re-use the right rod for the right cyl.  so if you take cyl 1 rod from a motor, put it into cyl 1 of the one you want to rebuild... there has to be a reason why machine shops keep everything together

if you mix 2 sets of rods make them even
