Those are so cool.
I'll bet there would still be quite a few on the road if they didn't rust so bad.
Those body's didn't last 5 years before Bethe rust took over, on the bed at least.
I found one here in SLC a few months ago that needed engine work but the body was DONE.. Damn near bought it anyway.

We had one that was a refugee from south California (long story, spare room in a shipping container). It was bit of a shock for the poor girl from the dry desert to the ample dampness of Devon. Yes it dissolved faster than a 1972 Alfasud. Even when it was rust free, it drove like the chassis was made of rubber. Good fun. I removed the corpses of 18 mice from the sills, ventilation ducts and engine. :roll:
