is one like that going to work good? has anyone had any experience with these cheap knock offs? i've heard that some are only good for diag and not for actually setting things up.
any help/advice appreciated :)
i'm also wondering if an '06 vw polo would have the CAN-BUS system.. if it does then i guess i need that :(

607.3 version with CAN works ok, ~30usd in China ;)

do you have a link to that?

Ask for shipping cost. If you buy only one interface it can be expensive...

I've been trying to find a cheap VAGCOM to sell. There has always been VAGCOM cables on ebay for under $20. And it is true that you can download a free version of RossTech. But the free version won't let you make any timing or fuel quantity adjustments to your ECU. You have to pay $300 for that.
I would like to see Vagcom devices under $100, but only time will tell.
it's not too hard to find the full version of vag-com. check out the torrents

that would be the ha#"ed version.. which Prothe can't sell if he wants to maintain his business ;)

well you can always just tip users off on where to get it... just say
"search the torrents"

I prefer the mule, slower but easier to search ;)
