I have a 91 Jetta Diesel and am trying to figure out what a part(s) is called. There appears to be two parts attached to my fuel filter via brackets. One has a hose going to the injection pump and the other has an electrical connection. Maybe they are the same part...not sure.
Can someone help a brother out?
Thanks

That's the altitude compensator..
Is it in the way or you just wondering?

Well the line that goes from the Alt. Comp. to injection pump has a "T" in it and I am wanting to make sure that I have it all hooked up as it should be.
A couple of small dogs (long long story) into my engine compartment and pulled off a house that I think goes from that "T" to another part that I am not sure what it is...vacuum pump maybe? Anyway my car has been running a bit rougher than normal and I started thinking maybe I had some hoses misplaced.
Any other input?

There is one that goes to the vac pump from the filter mounted device but I do not believe it's T'd into the one going to the IP.
I think the vac pump goes to the bottom of the filter mounted thingy and towards the top of it there is another nipple that goes to the IP.
I could be wrong through. I tore mine out a long time ago.
you can actually unhook everything and shim the LDA for more or less fuel all the time.

Here is a link the photo the lines. Couldn't make the in bedded photo thingy work. If you click the photo on the site you can make it bigger.

The red line goes from the altitude comp. to inj. pump via "T" (circled in green) then on to the vacuum pump.
Is this how it should be set up ?
Thanks again

That looks correct to me but I don't have one anymore so maybe someone else will chime in to be sure.
