Title: EGT probe

i was wondering where people have located there EGT probe, my dad used to sell aircraft parts and he had about 5 EGT setups that had verry small probes and i had enough room to sleak it inbetween the turbo and the manifold on the 1.6td's. the new autometer kit i bought has a big bulky probe the screws into 1/8 NPT. but space is tight, where have some of you located them? as i want pre turbo measurement.
