Driver side strut tower upper mount is 3/4 of the way broken off due to rust on my 80 Caddy. The body is clean so this kinda came as a suprise.
How hard is this to fix? Is it a huge job to do? Where can I get replacement parts to have welded in?
Thanks!

I would try here first: http://www.rsjparts.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=29_30&osCsid=1871848d6bd0bbb6d60e50e5528bd6af
I don't see the tower listed, but you never know...

a pic of yours would help me know where to cut this donor one out at?
price would depend on how long and where it gets cut at?

this is a common problem in caddies. there seems to be a problem with the way they were sealed in this location that must trap moisture. a common fix is to cut out the good strut tower metal from a donor vehicle and replace it. i don't know of anyone who makes aftermarket panels for this spot, and even if they did usually the aftermarket panels are no where near the quality of the original stuff. i have cut up an '81 cabby for strut tower replacement pieces and the cabbies seem to have a nice gauge of metal at that spot. seems thicker than the US-built stuff. either way, i'd bet cabby panels are the best replacements you can find. cheers.
