looks like an na pump will fit quite nice, how ever it appears a td pump may get a little close.

cant see the first pic
-
it has been corrected
-
I'll give it a try if someone wants to send me the intake
-
haha that won't be necessary since i have a 1.6td, and i will soon have that manifold to try it with, but i mean if it doesn't fit i will just have to throw it int he recycling bin, no big deal.

u can see it in person ;)
that 1st pic is the SDI installed in quicksilver, daves old car.
it cleared the TDI, and iirc, the plenum is high enough to clear the idi aswell. I could go check, but u really cant line it up without having installed the lower alum piece.

nah man i gotta recycle the petroleum to help bring fuel prices down haha

you're coming camping then? :D

i'd like to let me get ahold of him one last time he said last minute he would know haha, and i am a last minute person so that will work for me
-
perfect
-
i will not be attending
-
what are the benefits of that intake versus stock GTD
-
this one is completely heterosexual, unlike the stock vw one
-
Looks like you may be able to flip an ABA intake manifold around.
-
yeah it does, that would kind of be neat if an aba intake bolted to it.that would really confuse people that looked in that engine bay haha. but if the plastic *** doesn't fit, i'll make it fit
-
i want one for my n/a where would you find one? what motor is that off of?
-
doesn't look promising

have a riser made so it lifts the plastic intake up an inch or so?
you can make that work! just use some creativity !
you could ditch the studs and drill and tap the head for the older style valve cover?
maybe a heat gun to reform the plastic to make some clearance for the pump?
Duane
-
yeah i'm not worried about the valve cover at all, i have plenty of 1.6 valve covers i could stick on. it's the pump clearance i am worried about. a 1 inch riser may do the trick though, i'll have to wait until i have my td back though. ill measure on my dads car tho and see what all it will take.
-
also i think the picture makes the clearance of the studs look worse since i don't have any bolts holding the manifold to the head.
-
so since i have the head off my td i tried fitting the head and manifolding, it hits the pump alot, theres no way it will fit on a car with a td pump installed, you would need maybe a 3 inch spacer and then theres no way the hood would ever shut. with an na pump it may work with a smaller spacer, maybe 1 inch or so, but it's not very promising. so sdi intakes for us idi people has been shot down, except maybe with an na pump, does anyone want to buy an sdi intake manifold?
-
I do. How many clams?
IM me :)
-
even then i really question it, maybe a mk2 or mk3 would be a better fit
