yeah I am taking my head apart today and I see that the cam seal has worn two diffreant groves into the cam...is this ok? normal? if not whats the best way to fix it??
can a machine shop fix the issue?? or would I need to buy a new cam or??????
thanks 8)

Depends on if it's leaking or not. If not, I'd just fit a new seal. If it is, a machine shop can pot a speedy sleeve on.

yeah I dont really know if it was leaking???
when I got this engine it looked like everything had been leaking on it!! lol
...I guess I will just ask the machine shop what they think...

If you got it and it's filthy as hell it probably does leak from the cam because its the highest and most likely point to leak copious amounts of oil. I tried to reuse a broken cork gasket once with heaps of RTV it sorta worked but it still made a huge mess. Get a rubber gasket if you can, i recomend it!
