what do you guys think of this turbo to put on a 1.6 Diesel? its an IHI turbo serial # RHF4, and here is the link to the specs for it, I can probably pick it up for free and I would build the 1.6 to compliment the turbo.

Let me know what you think, thanks guys

At first I thought it was light in the flow department, and then I realised that it was in m3/min not lbs/min. After a little looking and calculating I think that for a free turbo I would run it. Not a huge PR, but good flow, being that it is ball bearing it should spool up well too.

DVST8R,
What Calculations did you use to figure out that this turbo would probably do the trick, and what is PR?
Thanks for your help

maximum PR is 2.7 as stated by the web site you gave. The calculation I did was change m3/min to lbs/min. Then I took the map and compared it to the stock kkk map, and the stock garret map (well a close one anyway) and extraplated from there. Also if you look on the website that you listed it has a recomended diesel HP rating range of 46-130. Fine for most 1.6TD's. If you need any more turbo info I would highly recomend the books "maximum boost" by corky bell, and "turbochargers" by hugh macinnes. Chapters has a 30% off sale on right now and both of these books qualify.
