Post by: ThomZe on August 08, 2008, 01:41:45 am
The shroomy head where the boost pin goes in is EMPTY? and my pin dosent fit.. There's no needle pressing out?

What the ..... is that?

Is it a pump from a non turbo?

.........

also, the hole in the head, where the vaccum tube is attatched, is blocked out, no threading what so ever..

I've never seen one empty, it can be the LDA or the ADA type, but always has a diaphragm inside :S

The ECO doesn't have the diapham housing. It looks like a regular N/A pump.

the one I've seen on the Portuguese forum was like described, the pin wouldn't go in because the housing wasn't made to accept a pin, it looks like the "spaceship" but its empty

spoke with a bosch technician, the head where the pin should be, was completely empty, not even threading to do anything, hell, I had to swap the whole top from my old pump :(

Some td's with smaller turbos don't need the smokepin, so they simply don't have it.. anyway the car is a little quicker now, but still lacks alot of life in the higher end, a little step forward.. but still looong way to go to get it running normal..

***

I'm running on Garrett T25 turbo"stock", TDI 1Z/AHU engine, stock tdi nozzles, 1.9AAZ Pump w. 10mm rotor, tdi plate.. slightly modded boost pin.. fuel enrichmentscrew is a bit in, but it's not doing more black smoke than many non tuned diesel cars..

But still there's a great lack of power to it, :\ but hell, I think I'll just have to take it to bosch service, it'll almost cost, what the cars worth, but I just don't want to get rid of it

If your sending it to a bosch shop, you should just talk to giles then.It will be 3 or 4 hundred more dollars depending on the shop prices.I didnt think a regualr td ever came "without'a boost pin.that doesnt make sense.

as you were told.. its an ECO pump, its ECO because it doesn't enrich under boost, less diesel, less power, more MPG :D

so, its NOT a TD pump, even the timing was designed to cut power down low because of emissions...

basically.. you were had
