Post by: RandoM on August 05, 2008, 09:47:12 pm
As stated in the title, I've got a 1.9td pump with 10mm head and I need a 1.6td more agressive boost pin

I'm in Quebec, Canada

they dont seem to fit too well in my opinion and add too much fuel because they are loose...any one else have this problem?

Isn't the pump the same? i mean people are taking the TDI pump and using parts from AAZ or 1.6TD to make the M-TDI pump.

I don't have any experience but I've not heard anyone complain I don't think. ?

The Cummins pin was a good fit in my 1.9.

You can grind your 1.9 pin: the original pin has a 1 mm recess. Check on the recess to see where how deep your enrichment needle rides on the boost pin and grind a surface at that same range of movement.

After grinding 2mm deep I saw a good improvement so i made it 3mm but it smoked quite a bit even at 15psi until I got an intecooler. Just experiment with yours: you have 3 sides of the pin to play with  .
Just make sure you polish it to reduce friction with the enrichment needle.

You could grind more than 3 considering the narrow contact point the pin rides on.
