how can you tell if you have a k24 or a garret turbo?
my year is 1990 on an mk2 jetta

More than likely you have a K24

Remove the air intake pipe and you should be able to see a blue plate on the compressor housing with all the details....

If its a K24 then the plate will be on the back side of the compressor housing or it mite not be there... u can tell by looking at the numbers on the housing if they are 5342......   then its a K24.
