hey guys just wanted to check in and see what your turbo diesels are getting for mileage. ive got a 89 diesel golf that gets 800-900kms per tank (highway) but my aunt is thinking about getting rid of her turbo diesel jetta ( i think its an 89, three spoke grill small bumpers) anyways i love my golf and the milage i get i was just wondering what a mk2 td gets? also are those turbos strong, when do they usualy start to crap out?
thanks guys, myles

I think you might be posting in the wrong forum...
The TDI engine is only available in north america in '96 and later cars I believe. The 89 would not be TDI, so a post in the IDI section would
probably get you some good answers..
Anyway, I get about 49-53 MPG on the hiway depending on
conditions with my 99.5 Jetta TDI. Thats if I set the cruse for 78 MPH or less.
Heavy head winds or heavy foot will decrease that however.. :)
Drive ON!
