looks good, for 500, make sure it turns over and check the coolant reservior.   for 500 even if u have to rebuild the motor its worth it, they aren't getting any easier to find, and they keep getting more and more popular.  i'd be sure to get every thing td specific on the car

Turning it over would be a pain, the car is about 2kms deep in the woods (walk in only) with a whole pile of other cars, this 'employee' in a gutted out doorless early 90s Safari van with 6 tires across his front bumper jetted me to it ( so to speak   )...no battery in it, so I guess I'd have to bring my own to test...probobly been sitting for a fair bit, not sure on oil or fuel or any of that...its an 85'...
You think I should buy it for parts?

Turn it over using a wrench on the crank bolt. If you hit the starter and something is out of whack you loose the engine.

I don't know the price of rust in the US, but 500 bucks seems a bit high for that :(

take a wrench attempt the crank turnover. If it goes good, great if not make him an offer for about whatever 1 ton of scrap is going for and he'll take it. Even if the engine rolls he'd probably take it, these cars I believe don't weigh in more than 2100 pounds so 1 ton of scrap metal to him might be a new car for you. The thing doesn't look much worse than my 84 rabbit I drive everyday.

I was wrong then, rust is underrated as a support material anyway. :)
