Title: turbo oil line??
Post by: Hammy on July 06, 2008, 09:08:00 am
Has anyone fabbed their own steel line or flex line from the oil filter housing to the turbo? If so, what size is that line (diameter), or am I just stuck with having to buy an original oem?

Thanks in advance.

I have seen places that sell generic steel braded line to make your own. Stock are somewhere around 1/4" ish, maybe a bit bigger.

I guess they are metric fitting though?

I was told OEM was $70 from the dealer.

Mine had a pinhole & was leaking - I tried to replace the broken part with compression fitting, but couldn't find any that fit - as the line seems thicken then most. I was also going to use auto. trans. rubber line, which is good to 300 psi.

But ended up scoring a used one, but thought the trans. line might of worked?

I managed to score a used one. Looked like new. So, thanks for the help everyone. I still wouldn't mind making a flexible unit though.
