About 10 months ago, I bought some KYB GR-2 struts for the front and back of my rabbit. I got around to putting the fronts in, but rear ones got backshelfed for other projects. Fast forward to now. When I put the GR-2s in I used new bumpstops and hardware, and they felt great. A little stiff, but good overall. Recently though, they had gotten real soft, bottoming easily and generally handling like crap. So, off they came after less then a year, and I put a set of Sachs SuperTouring dampeners in the front, and finally installed my rear set of GR-2's, all with stock springs. So far so good. It feels real good and handles well. So we'll see how it holds up. Has anyone else had a problem with the KYB's wearing out real fast? Anybody else have any experience with the SuperTourings?

No experience with either, hopefully they work out for you though

Well, both Scirocco's that I've owned had GR-2's on them, and they were shot on both cars as well. They are not as bad on my current '81 but I can tell they don't have much life left. They don't look that old either.
You get what you pay for when it comes to suspension.
