After reading all the posts referring to clear fuel lines on the pump, I find that even the dealer says its no longer available, and my local independant says they haven't seen it in years.
Anyone know of a source, or suitable substitute?
Tygon?

I think I just used a section of clear PE(polyethylene) tube and clamped the rubber line over it. I did make some metal inserts so it wouldn't collapse from the hose clamps though.

Dang, I was just at the local hose dealer and I cant remember what he called it.
I was looking for the same thing, I wanted clear for the 3.2mm returns on the injectors and for the supply and large returns as well.
Anyway he told me the name. I'll have to call him again tomorrow.

The oem stuff is nylon. I recall reading somewhere that diesel will attack the Poly stuff.
Just like somepunk pointed out, you can order it directly from McMaster Carr. Its rock hard, just like the original stuff.
Here is the schmidt:
Part No. 8359K15
25' length: $12.50
Description: High-Strength Clear Nylon
Tubing .242" ID, 5/16"
OD, .035" Wall Thickness
You have to warm the ends up to get them to slide over the hose barbs. Heat the ends till they just start to get plyable, then firmly ram the hose onto the barbs.
Its allot easier if you take the barb nerds off the pump and filter housing.
Here it is on my 1.6TD:

Here is some small diameter nylon that might work for the return lines. Might be a little stiff though. Its dirt cheap, so trying it won't be too expensive. Viton might be a better choise for the return lines.
