Title: Help!! Where can I find a good pulley???
Post by: mtnbob on May 29, 2008, 11:59:48 pm
Any suggestions on where to find a tensioner pulley for an 86 1.6 N/A? It is for the v-belt that runs from the A/C to the Alternator. I can't find it in the book or online. Part #?? Mine is starting to whine, is there a way to replace just the bearing??

Here you go:

http://www.vxb.com/page/bearings/PROD/6202-2RS?gclid=COD9g4OBro0CFQZnZQodfCYF1g

I bought about a dozen of these just for that pulley. The pulley is available from the dealer (or it was about a year ago) for about $75.

The part number is on the side of the pulley. Check 1stvwparts.com if you want to go crazy and buy the whole pulley.

Nope. Just use a socket the size of the outside of the bearing, and your bench vise. It should pop right out. Then use the same trick to install it.
