Title: 1.9 alh turbo swap
Post by: Redpawn on May 08, 2008, 09:37:38 am
I am planning a to swap a diesel in to a
suzuki samuria and am having a hard time
finding a desent priced 1.6 turbo to put in
it that doesn't need a rebuild or have a ton
of miles on it.I have how ever located a 1.9
ALH diesel out of a A4 jetta. The problem is
that the adaptor kit I want to use say it requires
the turbo to be facing upward like a 1.6.Are
there any after market manifolds and turbo
setups that face up or would it be posible to
put the intake exaust and tubo off a 1.6 on a
1.9?I'm not realy going for power because any
thing is better than the 40HP samuria motor.

The bolt patterns are the same for the 1.9/1.6s so you should have no problems installing 1.6 parts on a 1.9. 8V gasser parts work as well (same bolt pattern) however they may interfere with the other parts and may require grinding to make them fit.
