Clue, It's going in a T3 (Vanagon)
-
isnt a AAZ?
well, what could be wrong is that the engine is new or look alike and the vanagon may not be
-
It is AAZ.
It is new (more or less)
It's going into a Westy Atlantic, so it's worthwhile spending the money..
-
only thing i notice is that it doesn't have the sump vent to crankcase vent.
-
Warmer...
-
I'm scoobied. :?
-
The problem is it's not in my garage.
Other than that I see no problem at all.
Pretty..

When it's tipped to the 50° install angle, the oil separator will not function very well.
Andrew
Could you elaborate a bit more, Andrew? Mine looks the same and it was "plugged up" and took a good reverse huff to clear out (synthetic oil sticks to lips real nice). Maybe mine needs straightening out...

I dont have an AAZ in my face, but the valve cover part under the oil separator seems to be higher than Golf/jetta AAZ, I only see a valve cover like this on a 1.6L diesel vanagon, but dont fit on AAZ.
-
Maybee an original 1.9TD ABL from T3.
-
The rocker box is an experiment.
I have cut out the breather gauze section out of a 1.6TD cover and welded it into a AAZ cover to try to cut down, or cut out the "50 degree instal AAZ running on it's own oil problem!"
It took hours!
I'm never doing another!
I was trying to achieve what VW did for the 1.6TD install from the factory, but to a AAZ rocker box.
I have a fresh engine, didn't want to kill it!
Only time will tell, can't see why it won't work though.
Also spoke with the turbo company I use locally, they are going to build a hybrid for it, from new parts, he said he would look into it further but he mentioned using a K16 compressor, reckoned on that a K24 in a van with a AAZ would be far too laggy and for not much money they could build a decent, reliable turbo thats affordable, so again, only time will tell.
