Nice! This summer I'll be doing something like this too. The "toilet bowl" part with the seal leaks and I can't get it to stop :(

Where did you source the parts and how are you going to connect it to the rest of the exhaust?

EDIT: PS, nice welds!

Yes its 2.5" mandrel. I bought 2 "U" bends but only used one and a bit. I could have got away with just 1 "J" bend.
Its hard to see in the pic but there is a V-band flange welded to the end of the flex pipe and the clamp is on the table (freezer full of moose lol) as well.
I bought everything from http://stores.ebay.ca/Exhaust-Direct-Performance
Good prices and Jim was great to deal with there.
Edit: I bougth the V-band from http://siliconeintakes.com

Nice looking DP. I am building one too and I used yours for inspiration. Hoping to get mine welded up sometime this week.
Cheers.

I used the 2.5 x 6 (http://search.stores.ebay.ca/Exhaust-Direct-Performance_flex-2-5_W0QQfcdZ2QQfciZQ2d1QQfclZ3QQfromZR10QQfsnZExhaustQ20DirectQ20PerformanceQQfsooZ1QQfsopZ1QQsaselZ224633224QQsatitleZflexQ202Q2e5QQsofpZ0) although I probably could have fit the 8". I figure longer is better as it will put less stress on the turbo/exh manifold.

Thanks for all the kind remarks. It was my first downpipe build and im rather happy with it. I also just got rid of my sidepipe exhaust as I was hitting it on everything and I half assed the hangers so it rattled. Full 2.5 mandrel turbo to bumper now with no muffler. I'll see if I can get a pic of that too.

The turbo flange? I made it out of some 3/8 steel plate. Just clamped the old downpipe to it to use as a drill jig.

That sounds good to me..

I found a place that sells pre cut flanges for a reasonable price.
I think it was like $15 shipped for one..
I don't have a torch so it's tough for me to cut them out.
The last DP I made I just used a square piece of 3/8 that was WAY to big but it worked..

Were you able to keep the flange from warping while you welded it ok?
As in did it dish it out? I wasn't paying enough attention and mine was a tad warped when done, was able to just use a file to fix it  but would have been nice if I would have payed attention and not warped it.

Who needs a torch when you have an angle grinder with a cutting disk  8)
I used a 2.5" hole saw to cut the centre hole (which is centred in the 4 mounting holes btw) and the exh. pipe being 2.5 OD fit perfectly inside. I welded the flange on the inside and outside to try to prevent warping and then flattened the surface with a flapper disk on the grinder.
