Title: SVO and a gilles modified Pump
Post by: A Guy on April 17, 2008, 10:29:16 am
OK I'm trying to figure this out but I keeop getting different info.  I need to rebuild my pump on my 1.9 idi.  I intend to put a secondary tank in the trunk and run wvo.  I have been told that it is not advised to run a modded fuel delivery system.  Can someone chime in here.  I was planning  on sending  the pump out next week but now I'm I don't know what to do.

I told Gilles that the pump is for a commuter that does 220k/day and I'm looking for better rersponce and fuel economy with a swap to wvo in the summer he said no prob.  He come so highly recomended?????
suggestions????

THat's my opinion but it is his lively hood.  Most guys using his modded pumps are either racing or or just having a good time with reg diesel.
I will run waste oil that I collect and filter.  I'm affraid of haveing bigger problems.

As long as you are making good quality WVO and filtering it correctly and heating it to the proper viscosity you shouldn't have any problems. Acidity is also another major concern.

yeah, acid etching of the pump bearings and all the other parts is a big concern
