Title: N/A to TD conversion
Post by: blunt on April 03, 2008, 10:35:05 am
What all is required to do such a feat besides the obvious manifolds, pump and a turbo,   what are the differences between the N/A and TD engines internally? pistons, crank, cams, oil squirters?  havent been to the insides of these engines so i really dont know what vw changed.

Thanks Will

Just do a little searching. There are tons of threads about this, like this one. http://vwdiesel.net/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=13069 I guess someone should do a good writeup one of these days and put it in the FAQ.

I turboed an N/A with the turbo and manifolds from a jetta TD.
I am running about 15psi and am working on a water/meth injector to keep manifold temps down.
on an N/A with a turbo on it an EGT gauge is essential, I try to keep the EGT's below 1200F
